1.13.04 | Wrapin' Rolls

I have in my hand a package of British-made tortillas. They look like tortillas. They taste like tortillas. Except they're not called tortillas. They're called "Wrapin Rolls." On the back of the package, there are some recipe suggestions. Here are some for lunch. Cheese and ham. Prawn mayo: ready-cooked and shelled prawns with a generous helping of mayonnaise mixed with Cajun seasoning. Tuna and sweetcorn.

To get really inventive, the packaging says, try the "Alfresco" recipes, such as 'sausage and steak,' containing sliced meat with grilled vegetables, salad, and (wait for it…) mayonnaise!

Yuck.

Special January kitchen tip: When using a salad spinner, DO NOT lift off the top whilst the spinner is at maximum rpm. Being the inquisitive boy that I am, I took off the top to see if the centrigiful force was sufficient to keep the lettuce inside the basket. It's not. << REWIND
