Day 1/ Wednesday, May 26 Istanbul Full day private sight-seeing. Tour the Spice Market, then cruise up the Bosphorus in a local ferry gliding past opulent palaces, exquisite mosques, imposing fortresses and traditional wooden Ottoman mansions. Lunch at a village fish restaurant upriver. Afternoon visit to Sinan's masterwork, the Suleymaniye Mosque. Inside one may gaze at the intricate Iznik tiles, fine stained glass windows and beautiful carpets while at the same time noticing the simplicity of the mosque itself. Then visit the Turkish& Islamic Arts Museum to see examples of fine Ottoman calligraphy in gold and intricate miniatures and illuminated manuscripts set in a historic 16th century palace. Later we will walk in the labyrinthine passages of the Grand Bazaar, the world's largest covered market.
Day 2/ Thursday, May 27 Istanbul/ Bodrum Full day private sight-seeing. Visit the Roman Hippodrome, the Haghia Sophia, jewel of the Byzantine Empire, the monumental Blue Mosque and the Yerebatan Sarayi, the largest Byzantine Cistern in Istanbul. After lunch inside Topkapi Palace in the 100-year old Konyali Restaurant, while watching the ships pass through the Bosphorus, visit the Topkapi Palace Museum, lavish home to the Sultans for centuries. Then transfer to Istanbul airport for TK#292 depart Istanbul at 5:10pm arrive Bodrum at 6:20pm. Meet at Bodrum airport and transfer to Ada Hotel(special license-deluxe room),our base in Bodrum .
Day 3/ Friday, May 28 Bodrum The day is at leisure. Your stay at Bodrum will give you the opportunity to explore the unique Museum of Underwater Archaeology, housed in the former Crusader Castle. The Castle which is in excellent repair was built from the remains of the Mausoleum but there is little to see of that original structure. You shall also visit Ulu Burun shipwreck. Excavated by the Institute of Nautical Archaeology between 1983 and 1994, it was located close to Kas and is the oldest wreck ever excavated (3600 years old). The exhibit is currently being prepared in the Bodrum Castle and all the artifacts are in the conservation laboratory.
Day 4/ Saturday, May 29 Bodrum/ Milet-Didyma-Priene/Kusadasi Our private guide and a vehicle will meet us and we will drive to Kusadasi with stopovers in Priene-Miletus-Diyma. Priene, the first planned city built on a grid; Miletus with its ancient theater and temple, and Didyma, with its monumental temple of Apollo. Lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight at Kismet Hotel(room with a sea view), our base in Kusadasi.
Day 5/ Sunday, May 30 Kusadasi/ Pamukkale/ Kusadasi Full day private sight-seeing in Pamukkale to see the famous white travertines created over the millennia. We will also visit the ancient city of Hierapolis and Aphrodisias, whose acres of marble testify to what was once the most cultured Asian city in the Roman Empire.
Day 6/ Monday, May 31 Kusadasi/ Ephesus/ Kusadasi Today, we will visit the ancient Roman city of Ephesus, renowned for the temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the library of Celsus. The colonnaded streets of Ephesus make it one of the Mediterranean's most dazzling archaeological sites. Lunch at an old Greek house in the pastoral village of Sirince. Visit the Basilica of St.John and the house where the Virgin Mary spent the last years of her life.
Day 7/ Tuesday, June 01 Kusadasi/ Fethiye Private transfer to Fethiye. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at Villa Daffodil Hotel(special license-standard room).
Day 8/ Wednesday, June 02 Fethiye/ Mini Cruise As Villa Daffodil is very close to the departure place of your cruise, we recommend you to take a taxi. We board the yacht in Fethiye and, as the boat begins cruising towards Gocek, you have a chance to settle in and meet your shipmates. In Gocek, a little port famous for its yachts, marina and sea-side promenade, we enjoy dinner and then a stroll to one of the marina bars before turning in for the night.
Day 9/ Thursday, June 03 Mini Cruise After leaving Gocek in the morning, we visit the verdant bays and islands on the west side of Fethiye Gulf. We visit Kapi Bay, which is surrounded by pines and olive trees. Here you can either go snorkelling, to get the best view of the underwater ruins, which may have been an ancient bath, or relax at a bar or restaurant on the site.
Day 10/ Friday, June 04 Mini Cruise After breakfast, we take time to enjoy the natural beauty of the Turquoise Coast on our cruise towards the Bay of Marmaris. Relax on the sun-soaked deck of the yacht and forget the bustle and noise of the modern world. We sail past natural wonders like Paradise Island, hidden in the maze of interlocking bays, before dropping anchor for the evening in Kadirga or Kumlu Buku to enjoy our last dinner under a bright canopy of stars.
Day 11/ Saturday, June 05 Marmaris/ Dalaman/ Istanbul We leave the yacht and our new-found friends in Marmaris, taking away the memory of an extraordinary voyage. Private transfer to Dalaman airport for TK#215 depart Dalaman at 10:10am arrive Istanbul at 11:30am.Return to London.
